I have a “Media” folder on my external HDD on my MacBook Air where I have various folder for Movies, TV Shows, etc. For as long as I can recall, I have directed PMS to look here to update my library without issue. Today, after adding a new piece of media and ensuring that the PMS update the libraries, I was still not seeing the new media on the web nor on my Plex app on my phone.
When I went to MANAGE->Libraries->ADD LIBRARY->ADD folders->BROWSE FOR MEDIA FOLDER->External HDD…nothing shows as being in the External HDD, although I have folders in there.
I have no idea where Plex can longer see this folders and, subsequently, I cannot have it sync these folders, which is where I store my media. Can anyone assist in helping me solve/fix this issue?
Seeing something similar over last several days on an M1 Mac Mini Server, which I’ve thus far been unable to track down. It started with me being unable to play back files I knew I had downloaded and were on the drive. When trying to remove and re-add the drive/folder, I couldn’t see subfolders either. I manually typed in the subfolder and it seemed to accept that, but I’m still randomly seeing ‘please check permissions’ against files.
Still unclear if this has broken in a MacOS update, a Plex update, or something else entirely. It seems to have started in last few days.
Still digging…
For reference: MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 (recently updated)
Plex server: 1.26.0.5715 (edit: appears this is the latest again… no idea what’s going on!)
