Server Version#: 1.25.4.5426
Player Version#: 4.73.2
PMS is installed on a Windows 10 desktop. I have an internal HDD and an external (via USB) HDD. My TV Shows are on the internal HDD and I want to create optimized versions for the 4k shows on the external HDD.
I followed the steps outlined in this support article but can’t see the additional folders in my library in the dropdown.
I’m having the same problem with my Movies library as well. I believe this process worked several months ago. Any idea why I no longer have the option now?
Same problem here, you can specify alternate folders when optimizing as individual show, but when optimizing an entire library, the only available option is “in folders with original items”. I would also like to have the option to change the Version storage location when optimizing a library, not just an individual show/movie.
A conditional work-around sort of fixes HALF the problem.
SOMETHING is not right here…
(A) Logging in via the computer with the Media Server:
Launch from the Windows’ SysTray ICON ‘PLEX’ (DOUBLE-CLICK)
Resulting URL starts with: ‘127.0.0.1:xxxxx/web/’
note that the settings icon is TWO wrenches, crossed
confirmed the version # via: [Wrenches] | Settings | General
version 1.22.3.4392
Optimize DOES allow options other than ‘In folders with original items’
(B) Logging in remotely to the Media Server:
Launch from the Windows’ SysTray ICON ‘PLEX’ (DOUBLE-CLICK)
Resulting URL starts with: ‘app.plex.tv/#!/’
note that the settings icon is ONE wrench
confirmed the version # via: [Wrenches] | Settings | General
version 1.22.3.4392
Optimize DOES NOT allow options other than ‘In folders with original items’
