Unable to claim PMS after password reset

Server Version#: 1.28.1.6104-788f82488
Player Version#:

Dear Plex-Team,

I reset my password and checked the option to “Sign out connected devices after password change” as requested by e-mail.

I then used the local web app http://localplex.server.address:32400/web to access the web app. I signed in there and wanted to follow the instructions on how to reclaim your server.

Unfortunately the section containing the plex servers does not show up, so there is no way to reclaim my server.

I noticed that my server with its given name does appear for a few seconds after pressing F5 in the browser, displaying “connecting”. But after a few seconds it disappears again.

Can you please provide step-by-step instructions how to reclaim my server?

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,
Bernd

Are you on the same subnet as the server when attempting to reclaim it?
See the pinned message (“Important notice of a potential data breach”) for the full guide – incl. the prerequisites to reclaim your server (which are the same as when claiming it in the first place).

Yes, both server and my computer are on 192.168.1.x

do you experience the same with a different browser or after disabling browser extensions / add-ons?

I switched browser, same result.

The following solution worked for me: Linux Tips - #20 by ChuckPa
I used the second option!
Thank you all for your support!

If I may share this here for others to find –
