Unable to reclaim servers after forced password reset

Server Version#: latest, just updated on Sunday, cannot login to server s to get version
Player Version#: web and roku latest

I was forced to reset my account password as everyone knows but after doing so the PMS servers were inaccessible. I’ve attempted to reclaim per other articles, but I do not receive a “claim” button. When navigating to [hostip]:32400/web I am prompted to sign-in, which I do so and am guided to select a preferred server, the server of which I am currently logging into us not available in that list. I proceeded through and the server never becomes available or is detected as unclaimed in order to be claimed. In accordance with other posts, I also modified the Preferences.xml file removing the following and restarting the service:
PlexOnlineHome=“1”
PlexOnlineMail="jane@example.com"
PlexOnlineToken=“RanDoMHexIDecIALtoKeNheRE”
PlexOnlineUsername=“ExampleUser”

I am running PMS on Ubuntu and have the same issue on both servers I am running. Everything is running on the latest as I have a cron job that updates ubuntu and PMS every Sunday at 3a.

I’ve deleted the servers from my online Plex account and have verified via /identity that the servers are in an unclaimed status. I spun up a new VM, installed Plex on it and attempoted to claim it but have the same result on a brand new vanilla installation using Incognitio Chrome to nagivate to the new server.

How else can I go about reclaiming these servers?

@ChritterG

With server stopped and having removed those Name=“Value” pairs,

You should be able to claim it again from the same subnet or the machine’s console (127.0.0.1 address)

If still not, please let me know.

I’m in the same boat as you although on Debian. I am currently away from home but VPN’d into my house so trying lo log in “locally” and getting the same result.

I am also in the same boat, I thought I’ll upgrade as I was one or two out on Plexpass and now my Plex server on QNAP doesn’t even start.

For your QNAP

@badgerarc @ChritterG

( You want the second choice )

THANK YOU! THis has worked for me :slight_smile:

I’ll try this again but it didn;t work the first time

I can confirm this does not work with my x64 based QNAP NAS, all I get is
Not authorized

You do not have access to this server

This was my saving grace, worked like a charm!

For QNAP Nas your post doesn’t work, however using the Linux tip does.

For QNAP this works for me, to enable SSH goto Control Panel → General Settings → Network & File Services → Telnet / SSH → Click Allow SSH Connections → Click Apply → If using an account other than Admin (Which should be everyone!) Click Edit Access permission → Select your account → click Apply
