I believe I’m having a similar issue: Fresh Install - Unable to Claim (Ubuntu)

I’ve been experiencing the same issue for over 12 hours. I’ve tried it on multiple servers, both Windows and Linux, including testing it at home and in the Hetzner Cloud, but nothing helps…

Something must be broken on the plex.tv end. Their main site has been unstable and offline quite a bit.

I tried the version just released, it’s the same (I’m using Hetzner as well).

also using hetzner
i spun up a digital ocean droplet to test and that worked first time

must be hetzner’s ip’s being blacklisted by plex

I also have the problem with Windows on my desktop at home, so it’s not a Hetzner problem

Same here. Earlier when going to plex.tv/claim I got a cloudflare error which later cleared. Status.plex.tv shows an issue with plex.tv today but now shows green. Nothing in the notes though.

same issue and going on now since yesterday for me. Anyone at Plex team care to comment on an ETA for a fix with claiming new servers?

There was a DDoS attack earlier.

I’m trying to figure out current status.

I know they did insert manual blocks for specific places that shouldn’t be impacting anything in the US

I can confirm this as well, cannot claim a server for 2 days. @ChuckPa can we have an update? My server is based in Finland.

Sidenote: I received an email from Plex saying they will start blocking plex servers hosted by Hetzner from October 12th.

wtf? realy?

Important notice about the hosting service you may be using.

We’re contacting you to let you know about an upcoming action that is likely to affect your Plex Media Server setup. You’re receiving this notice because the IP address associated with a Plex Media Server on your account appears to come from a service provider that hosts a significant number of Plex Media Servers that violate our

Due to the large-scale violations occurring from that hosting provider, we will be taking action soon to block access and activity from Plex Media Servers hosted by that provider. We will start these blocks on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

If you leave your current installation as-is, you will have issues connecting to it from Plex apps as well as managing it. To avoid these issues, we suggest that you consider alternative hosting options, including hosting it from your home.

When moving your Plex Media Server installation, we encourage you to review our article on [moving a server install to another system]). These instructions will assist you with migrating the install as-is, so that you don’t have to set it up from scratch.

I’ve not been able to claim my new self hosted PMS either. I get these errors but I’m not sure if it’s related:

Request came in with unrecognized domain / IP ‘#.#.#.#’ in header Host; treating as non-local

I’ve followed the instructions but I keep getting “Not Authorized”. Is this related?

Hi all…

I see a lot of people chiming in here, with different issues, but one common factor seems to be self hosted

Above could mean a lot of different things, but for a start, then yes, on the 12th of Oct. we will block one service provider, but that NOT now
(And nope, this thread is not for this, but for helping people out claiming their servers!)

All with the problem, I need you to reproduce, and right after that upload a zip with your PMS logs, and we will look into that

Thanks

Hi @dane22

Thanks for your answer. Today I tried to set up a new server on several devices at several locations (Hetzner, home, laptop, NAS, desktop) after I was no longer able to log in after a server move and stupidly logged out of the server beforehand.

sorry for my bad english

Also having trouble claiming servers for the past 2 days. Any help would or insight would be highly appreciated.

Hi having the same issue here. Though I was because of using a 3rd party docker image. But official Linux/Windows installers from plex themself are also unclaimable. Here are my logs from new clean install, but still unclaimable.
