Try the answer I posted here: Remote Access suddenly not working anymore The problem is not the Roku specifically, but how the PLEX server and the ROKU are communicating. You may need to lower the security a bit for remote users.

No, it’s a bit sporadic and mostly based on networks and devices, thus very hit or miss. Either way, those are safe settings to start with.
