I am no longer able to access the PMS on my Synology DS916+. When I say I can’t access it, I mean I can’t get to any of the media or even access the server management. If I open the PMS through the Synology (or anywhere else for that matter) it opens a client web page that only contains links to TIDAL, News, Podcasts, etc., but the connection to the server itself is missing, which is to say I have no ability to select libraries, control remote access, create accounts, etc. If I select “Your Media,” I get a message saying “Add your media to Plex” with information on downloading the PMS installer. The Synology says that PMS is running, but there is no access to it and the client doesn’t see it on the network. It’s as if it’s invisible.
The permissions on all of my media are set to allow Plex to access it, so that shouldn’t be an issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Thank you for your help! I have made some progress but have hit another roadblock. I was finally able to access the server after deleting the preferences.xml and plexmediaserver.pid files. However, once I got in I was presented with an error message saying “This server is unclaimed and not secure.” Claiming the server fails without error. The management page also says that there is an update available for the server, but I installed the most current version (1.18.0.1913), and the Plex app on the Synology NAS shows that it is up to date. How do I claim the server and link it with my account?
Thank you. I went through Q16 and attempted to claim the server through both the Plex web management page (as both Public and Beta) and using the Windows version of Claimit. Attempting to claim through the Plex management page simply fails with no error messages. Attempting to claim the server using Claimit results in the following error message.

In both instances I get a login screen asking me to select a user and a pin. My username appears as a user. Once I log in with my pin I get the main Plex interface. The left sidebar menu lists Home, TIDAL, News, Podcasts, & Web shows, and under that More> with an “!”. If I select More my server appears along with all my shared categories. If I select the server, the main screen shows a big warning that says “PMS server is unclaimed and not secure” with a button to claim it. If I try to claim the server I end up right back where I was above, unable to claim it.
