Unable to Direct Connect via Plex.TV | Fine on Mobile

I’ve been stuck with this issue for about 6 months now but I’ve had enough and need to find some answers. I’ve always been able to “Direct Connect” via the Android App on my partners and my phone when out of the house. I can select to play it in Original Quality (i.e 5mbps 1080p HD) and it does play as that.

My problem is when I’m somewhere which has a really nice connection and want to play through app.plex.tv on my laptop or connected to a big screen TV, it has never been able to do a Direct Connection and always goes via the relay, thus I am unable to play it in anything higher than 2mpbs. I’m someone who puts a lot of time and effort into getting quality media and I hate when it has to transcode down to potato.

I’m also unable to connect via the website unless I choose to connect unsecured. I have port forwarded manually, firewall is good and when I’m at home, plex reports that it is fully accessible

Any suggestions?

TL;DR: I can direct connect through the App on mobile devices (as evident by the quality) but the Web Client always goes via the relay. Plex reports it is fully accessible

Have you checked the setting under Web Client - Quality?
