I suspect this is a service-related issue not a server-related issue…

My Plex Live TV stopped working tonight and I found that the Plex Media Server no longer recognized the HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro. The HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro’s IP address had changed from its static lease address to a 169.x.x.x address. I removed the HDHomeRun but haven’t been able to add it again. I’m getting the same error (“DVR Setup Unable to fetch Guide settings”) that everyone else is getting. The new Plex Server release didn’t solve the problem.

My hardware and configuration:
WD MyCloud PR4100 | Firmware: 2.31.174
Plex Media Server Version 1.15.4.919
HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro | Model: HDHR5-4US | Firmware: 20180817

Also hitting this issue when setting up with the following setup:

  • QNAP TS-451 (firmware 4.3.6.0907)
  • HDHomeRun CONNECT Quatro (firmware 20180817)
  • Plex Media Server 1.15.4.919

I also tried downgrading to 1.15.3.876 and no go.

I have been trying all night. I had it working on a different computer earlier but needed to migrate it. Now I can’t setup my DVR. This is frustrating.

Why does this keep happening every few weeks? It’s like a feature by this point.

Users can’t refresh guide… We are kept in the dark for days, and then we finally get an acknowledgement of the issue, and it’s because of the “upstream provider”. Then, it’s fixed in a few days. After that, it works for a few weeks, and then it breaks again… and we come back here to complain and the process keeps repeating.

Just so you know hdhomerun prime is no longer available (offered).

Same here. Getting error. Win 10, latest Plex Server.

Same problem. Synology running DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 6 and PMS 1.15.3.876-ad6e39743. All was well except a couple of channels were added in my area. Not able to add. Unfortunately, I deleted the HDHomeRun tuners out of Plex, and now unable to add them back in with the same “Unable to fetch Guide settings”. Status page for Plex, says that all systems AOK. So what is going on?

Im not sure and there has been like zero response from “support.”

I thought this might be related to the email i got about having to using a 3rd party service for epg, but then saw on reddit that email wasnt supposed to go to US customers as we are not effected, so at this point this is anyones guess.

I suspect this is a service-related issue… and Plex will need to fix or work with whomever is responsible for the failure point…

got fed up with this issue, if you want to not rely on plex and their tenuous relations with thier guide provider, you can sign up with for a free account at https://tvlistings.zap2it.com/ and then follow the instructions here to download (and optionally schedule) an xml file http://zap2xml.awardspace.info/ which you can import into plex where their auto-guide is failling.

Same issue last night…kind of annoyed that i can’t even watch live TV since the EPG fails…I get DVR not working without it, but not letting me watch live TV is just dumb, makes no sense.

Thank you for this. I plan on doing that this weekend most likely. I used to run MediaPortal and I had to do something similar with that as well. The XMLs were a pain because I manually had to edit stations that weren’t reporting correctly. I was all excited when plex was doing it automatically. But if I can’t rely on them, I guess I’ll have to gather the info myself.

Ditto with both of my PMS. Both are unable to refresh the EPG.

I was unable to update. When I uninstalled and rolled back to version 1.15.2.793 it worked fine again. I think there is something broken in the newest version!
