Unable to Fetch Guide Settings

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
MAC Version#: 10.14.6
Tuner = HDHomerun Scribe Quatro

When trying to add a DVR the installation locates the HDHomerun and displays the 57 channels found but after typing in the ZIP code the “continue” box remains greyed out and it finally fails with the "unable to fetch guide settings error…

I am having a similar issue with HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO. Plex locates the tuner on the network and all of the channels available, but once I enter my zip code it does not let me click “continue”. I have tried several times over the last month or two on different computers and different browsers with no luck.

I’ve tried different computers also and a virtual linux box… all do the same…
What version firmware is on the Homerun?

What country are you using when setting up the DVR?
From what I understand, there’s countries which are not officially supported by Plex for which you can however provide your own XMLTV guide data. Same goes for countries where not all regions have available program guides.

It’s the USA and this is an available answer that a search returned… it matters not the zip either

What zip code are you using? It’s possible you are in an area where we can’t match the zip code (we missed it or it’s new and not listed in our DB) so there is no guide to load.

I have tried local zip./… my son in laws zip who has Plex and live 20 lives away… he even cared the laptop to his house and it still does the same thing trying to connecting the server to his HDHomerun … his active server is a linux box and it works where my laptop will not and it is on the same network

Can it be an account issue… I have tried 2 different Mac computers… A virtual linux box running on my Mac… We have taken the laptop to another town on a different HDHomerun and it still fails with the same error. We have installed an older version with a full manual deletion of the current one and even the old version would not work.

Still be useful to know what that zip is so I can check. PM me if you don’t want to share publicly.

Unlikely

I don’t know if the virtual box has any impact. Could be something is blocking the connection back to plex.tv to pull the guide data. Can you try again and then get the entire log package from Plex Web and send that to me.

I am no longer running it on a virtual machine… I’ll try and get the logs

Plex Media Server.log (299.1 KB)

I asked for the entire log package. There are other logs for the DVR and other system logs I’d also like to check.

Edit - You also have verbose logging enabled. Please turn that off and try again.

let me try again

Let me be clear. Use Plex Web. Go to Settings \ Server \ Mange \ Troubleshoot \ Download Logs. That will give you a zip file. Send me that zip file.

on a Mac I end up with an uncompressed folder

I don’t see a way to send a folder of files

Right click/ compress

Plex Media Server Logs_2020-01-17_15-47-02.zip (222.0 KB)

zip should 42134 and in the logs it looks like it 4213
