Thank you!!! @drlenny This workaround worked perfect until @Plex finally does something about this.
This video might help some of the lesser technically inclined people.
Mine started working about 20 minutes ago with no system changes.
I’ve been thinking about this (without doing any type of sniffing on my network) and I am curious how they are getting guide info. I would think they are paying a licensing fee to Gracenote and that it would be way too cumbersome (esp from a security standpoint) for each server to authorize to Gracenote’s servers so there is probably a proxy server/VPN/mpls between personal servers and Gracenote. I’m curious if there is a timeout/authentication/service issue going on with this server that has to be kicked each time this issue happens.
Purely speculation and presented without judgement, just curiosity. Hope everyone elses is working!
@skaluv Out of the blue, my Windows 10 PMS with 1.15.3.876 just stared to refresh my EPG. My Mac was stuck trying to refresh so I’m restating. hopefully it will reboot and start to refresh as well.
Appears to possibly be working now… I’ve gotten passed my zip code and is currently refreshing guide. Fingers crossed.
Lol after go to zap2it to fix it. Now Plex has it fix.
If anyone needs step-by-step instructions for setting up the XML guide in Plex, you can take a look over here at techpowerup.com
Just keep in mind that in order to set this up, you may have to delete your current DVR that has been configured for Plex’s DVR, and if that’s the case, you may need to set up all your recordings from scratch.
One issue with the zap2xml method I have found is that it fails on the nightly local news for the channels that I usually watch in my area. The EPG does not have episode information for the news broadcasts and therefore, Plex cannot schedule repeated airings, no matter if it’s just set for New or New & Repeated. Also, when I schedule it for a single recording for one day, and then do the same for the next day, the next day one does not get scheduled.
gotcha… but it is still in the box. im currently trying on a hdhomerun connect quatro ota box now… which is still available.
so i was able to get farther now, to the next screen and it says finding best guide or whatever. Once that is there, i can click continue but then receive…
There was a problem saving your DVR. Please try again.
i tried zap2xml but it doesnt have many of my local channels… weird… so i have 40 channels but when it is done, i have like 5
ok so i was just reading here and there… then found there is a newer version of plex. I went into my server and clicked - check and it says im up to date…

Version 1.15.3.876
so i went and DL plex from their site and it is
1.15.4.919 and im currently updating at this moment… seems to be working
It’s working now !
