Unable to Find/Connect to Plex Media Server

Server Version#: 1.13.8,5395
Player Version#: 2.19.1

Hello,

I’ve read the sticky post as well as the FAQ/Troubleshooting but have been unable to connect to a Plex server.

I’ve moved countries and have brought my laptop that used to have a Plex server back home but am unable to have the server recognized. I am connected from the router to my laptop via an Ethernet adapter. When I access Plex via the IP it asks me to login using an account (which I do) but then the server proceeds to spin and tell me that there is no server available and that I should download the server software.

I’ve installed/re-installed both the server and media player multiple times.
I’ve deleted both the local folder for server and media player.
I’ve restarted my computer (multiple times).
I’m using a static IP for my Ethernet adapter and a static IP for the WIFI.
I’ve opened up port 32400 in the router.

I’m not sure why there were 6 Plex Media Server logs but I’ve attached all 1. Please let me know if you need the other 5.

Plex Media Server.log (57.7 KB)

Really appreciate any help because I have no idea why this isn’t working!

Your log shows your username as “Noway237”. That doesn’t match the username you are using here in the forum, “Noway21”. Are you using the “Noway237” account when logging into Plex Web?

Hello, I tried to login using several accounts but I am fairly certain that the server was initially created using the forum account I am using now.

Nope. Your PMS logs tell me which account you used. It was your 237 account.

You can follow the instructions in https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/ to remove the login info from PMS. This will allow you to use a different account.

Thank you so much!!

After spending two days wondering why it wasn’t working, this has fixed it.

I deleted the said registry keys and then opened http://localhost:32400/web and then was given the option to claim an unowned server on my network.

I’ll go ahead and mark your post as the solution.

Appreciate it!
