This occurred yesterday (or maybe up to several days ago) and is still the case today which is something of a MAJOR F***G PROBLEM as the channel mapping is obviously not correct and that’s preventing me from recording something I want to catch tomorrow. Quest (UK FreeView) is simply showing completely the wrong information and has been for as long as I’ve been checking, but now it’s come to a head as I need it correct for tomorrow.
If I go into Settings/Live TV & DVR and try to check the channels on either of the 2 HDHomeRun devices, I get the above error. Why? What’s going on? Why is Plex failing like this?
I could try throwing away either/both tuners and set them all up again, but is that the solution?
I am now reliant on Plex providing a good FreeView experience as that is now our main TV source, but so far, it’s fallen way short TBH. Now this. What is this error and anyone any idea how to fix it?
Just did that and when setting it up again, gets to point of asking for postcode to determine location and then states:-
" We’re finding the best guide for your channels and location.
This should only take a few moments."
but progress stays at 0% and it never gets anywhere.
So it looks like PMS is unable to find a Guide. This would explain why it was not able to show the channels previously. However, I then did have some TV capability. Now, I have nothing.
Since it was working previously, it would appear to be a bug in the latest update.
Wow, who said that was beta. PMS simply announced there was a new version and did I want to update, which I did. I didn’t see any mention of this being beta.
Ah, now I see a setting. I’ve changed that to Public. Guess I’ll just wait for the next Public release.
I did discover that my full postcode was being autofilled and causing it to get stuck. Well, a bit of a UI bug as with the full postcode entered, the Continue button is disabled (as it should be), but if you press Return, it continues anyway, although with data it cannot apparently use.
Anyway, I tried again just entering the first part of the postcode and it then found Guide data and commenced downloading it. But I have to ask, why is it so slow? I can download a 10Gb movie quicker than it takes to grab some Guide data. What gives?
It has now apparently finished downloading the Guide, but it is showing 23 channels, yet I only have 18 channels enabled, exactly the same in both tuners. Also Quest HD at 114 (although same problem with SD last time I checked) is simply barmy. Seems to show the same programs whatever the time slot displayed, just possibly in a different order. I can switch to different days and times and other channels change, but the Guide shows Quest as being the same progs. Checking against a proper Guide and the Plex one is just screwy.
Any idea when is the next Public release, or how can I rollback to 1.18.0? Having said that, I don’t think Quest has ever been correct.
