same on firetv stick 4k, mostly happens when clicking on a show in the continue row. the episodes just start jumping around and this popups gets spammed and fades in fades out a few times.

Also seeing this issue but seems to be only cosmetic on SHIELD with all updates installed as of 1st Jul 21.
Same here on Chromecast W Google TV. Error sometimes sticks on screen and then takes a lot of navigating round before it will go away. Sometimes clicking back crashes out of the app which is annoying but also clears it!
Yes I’ve been having this issue for months on a new Sony 4K - PLEX NEEDS TO LOOK AT THIS AND FIX IT!!!
Can confirm, same issue here. Noticed it first a week or two ago.
Xioami Mi Box S (Android) (Wireless) + Plex App: Error
Main PC (Win10) + Windows Plex client: works
Server PC (Win10) + Plex in browser: works
Everything is in the same home network connected to one modem/router. No extra routers, switches, etc.
Sometimes (not often) restarting the Plex Server + Mi Box temporarily resolves the issue.
Not sure if the issue is related to the Server PC going to Sleep when it’s not being used? Are not all resources coming back up when the PC is woken up due to Plex being accessed again? But when it works, as long as I keep playing stuff, it keeps working.
/Edit: just had an Android update on the Mi Box S. The issue remains.
/Edit2: Just updated Plex server from 1.23.3.4707 (public) to 1.23.4.4712 (beta), and I’m able to play stuff on my Mi Box S again. Let’s see if this is permanent.
/Edit3: Nope. Even with the latest beta, the issue is still there.
@BigWheel Since fixing the issue seems to take a long time, why hasn’t Plex pushed a rollback to the last working version?

Anyone know what version of the Android player still worked without this issue? Clearly they’re not any closer to fixing this issue, and I’d like to return to some semblance of normalcy.

I have Plex server installed on Ubuntu and I get this issue on my Android phone and both my Shields
Try disabling the “Support Away Mode when preventing system sleep” option in the general server settings. I encounter this error when the computer where the server is installed returns from sleep. So far he hasn’t done it, neither on Firestick nor on android TV. It makes me think that the error is really caused by the server.
I’ve got the same issue with my Mi TV Box S. When I navigate to any TV series, and wait there for about 10 seconds, it shows the notification “unable to navigate, item not found”.
It does that notification periodically every 10 seconds or so. I am still able to watch the series and everything, it’s just cosmetic issue but it’s annoying. It makes Plex looks like some cheap player that’s nto working properly.
Hope it gets fixed soon.

Same issue for me with on my Sony OLED with Android TV. Latest version is installed - of course. Really annoying…
Add me to the list. Hisense Android Tv, Shield, and Chromecast with Google TV. Only on the Hisense do I have issues where it won’t play the next episode for one specific series. I always assumed it was the file type being weird on that device. Guess I am not alone.
Over three months later, yes this is still an issue that affects everyone constantly.
