Chiming in. Plex Media Server on Linux, Nvidia Shield 2019 as player. Same error message.
Really? This problem was reported as early as April, and there’s still no solution? I can’t play anything at all from Plex on Nvidia Shield! Time to jump to another service.
I have run some tests on my system, i noticed the issue on two different clients (Android Fire TV, and Apple TV) and my Server is Synology, with latest spk.
If multiple copies are being loaded into Library Folders, Plex Server will run scans, which impacts the performance of the TV Show episode navigation. Once i paused the loading of episodes, the client behaved normal.
Having the same issue for quite a while… using Sony Bravia - GoogleTV.
Also having this problem. Streaming to Firestick from server 1.23.5.4862.
I think it might be related to this issue? On my phone, when I navigate to a series, and scroll down, after a short moment, the view scrolls up by itself. It’s possible that it does the same error as my TV, just without the error message. It happens after similar time like on the TV when they message appears.
July 26, 2021 - YouTube (it happens twice in the video, it jumps up by itself). It might not be related but it feels to me that it is.
I find it astounding that this was reported in April, and here we are nearing August without it being resolved.
I did an update, yesterday, to the shield app. Watched an episode and deleted it expecting the error and not getting it. Was it quietly resolved?
Same here with Fire TV and Xiaomi Mi TV (Android). I have two servers with the same contents connected to this account: Synology NAS and Mac Mini.
Same issue on older android tv and the new google TV, tried fresh plex app installs and server installs. I’ve had it when playing a season of a tv show and the second episode presents this issue, also when using the shuffle feature
I updated a few days ago and never had the pop up since then. Also resuming seems to work now without issues for me. So indeed the issue may has been resolved quietly. Strange thing that some users still report they have issues.
Same thing happens on the tv. Use to get error now just jumps. Very annoying.
As a plex pass subscriber I’m really tired of Plex not having Technicians on this site to answer questions directly. At least have Plex moderators in each forum so we know they even care about our issues.

I am currently experiencing the same issue with my Nvidia Shield.
I can see my media libraries, but when I want to play a media, I get the “Unable to navigate, item not found”. On other devices (computers, phones), I have no issue playing any media.
Has a solution been found yet?

It ruins my plex experience. Episode lists flicker, half the time I can’t even scroll across a season without it randomly not finding/re-finding the episodes. I definitely can’t read the text. Sometimes the cursor randomly jumps or drops down while disappearing/reaappearing.
