Unable to populate movie metadata on new server

Apologies in advance, but I’m not super technical and may be confused on some of the debugging requests. I found some other topics that reference similar issues, but most were NAS focused, and also locked.

I recently decided to move my PMS to a dedicated machine in another part of the house. Repurposing an older iMac running High Sierra. Did a complete wipe and OSX install and installed a fresh PMS. All of my media resided on an external HDD which I moved to the new machine.

Added music and everything worked fine. Then added TV Shows and again no problems. Added Movies and it is failing to retrieve the metadata for all of the movies, and initially wan’t even retrieving options for posters. After reordering the Agents and trying over a few times, I’m now getting poster options for each. But the movie details are absent and the default image is a frame from the movie.

Any suggestions on troubleshooting (preferably with links to steps) would be hugely appreciated. This is literally the first issue I’ve had with any of my Plex libraries and have been using it for several years.

I am having the same issue only with my movie library. Any new movie I add does not get any metadata. I am not sure if the agents are down or what but I am not running a new server … It was fine couple of days ago

Same here. Started a few days ago. No metadata on new movies but TV shows seem fine. I went into manual search and all agents are coming back with no results.

So maybe it’s a temporary issue? :thinking:

My issue seems to be fixed after rebooting the server. I am running on Linux, and Plex was running up for about 15 days. After rebooting I got all the metadata for the new movies. Not sure if my issue is the same as your though…

I didn’t reboot, but when I revisited about an hour later all the metadata was suddenly there. Did it resolve for everyone else (with or without reboot)?
