Firstly just to confirm it is a DS115, not a DS115j?
Please be aware, I am just going on the info I found, so take this advice with caution… and feel free to wait for more a knowledgeable answer.
If it is a DS115 then maybe try one of the downloads from the last post on this thread
(as the main downloads page may not be providing the latest versions):
As according to this page:
Yours is listed as an x15 series, so I would have thought looking at the downloads links, you would want this one:
Thanks for this. I can confirm it is the DS115 and NOT the DS115j.
The link you provided worked perfectly. Not too sure why it told me to download the other one. Anyway. Sorted now. Thanks very much for your help.
Just guessing, but I think this new update has changed quite a lot in the whole infrastructure and as such it seems to be having a few teething problems which will hopefully be ironed out going forward.
I think the problem was that the download link in the plex web update notification was pointing to the wrong file for the original posters specific nas.
Yep I would totally agree… and personally always use the downloads page, except there are currently issues with downloads page since the new changes, in that they are still showing 1.14 for a great many of us, me included.
I am sure you are aware of the multiple threads related to that issue/problem.
At the moment the only reliable way to get the correct download links is to find the the post I referenced above, and even then you have to find the last entry in that thread to get the downloads, as the first post still has old links to earlier 1.15 versions.
If it was me, I would update the links in the first post as well to prevent more confusion.
The problem for the Version 1.15.1.791 update also appears to affect my DS216Play server. I get the same message when I try to manually update the package. Hopefully Plex will correct shortly.
4/3/19: The problem is the Plex server is pointing to the wrong update package. The correct suffix of the package has “_Neon” in it. That will work with the ds216play. There’s a link floating around this forum to get to the download pages, select the correct package from there. Fixed.
They were not talking about the auto-update feature, if you mean Package Center. When you get a notification to update PMS on a Synology now, the “update” link simply downloads a package for you. You still have to manually update it.
So for any given NAS if it is pointing to the wrong file, that is an issue to sort out. There is, in fact, nothing to “read” because users aren’t directed to the page, only to a direct download. I’m not sure why a download wouldn’t complete correctly? How would that be any different than downloading from the page? They are the same files.
