Unable to update Plex Server to 1.15.4.993 on QNAP

Server Version#: 1.15.3.876
Player Version#: Version 3.97.3

I have a QNAP TV-471. I have been trying to install the latest Plex server update 4.993 and it is failing. I get a message saying it cannot install. There is no QNAP log entry recorded. This has never happened on previous updates.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

You are running QTS 4.2 or 4.3 ?

X86_64 systems require QTS 4.3

Hi, I just updated to 4.3.6 this morning. Not sure if it is related to the issue or not.

Updated to 4.3.6 from which version please?

Hi again.

I went from 4.3.6.0883 to 4.3.6.0895

Reboot it. QNAP can get quirky that way.

Hello, I have a TS-453A QNAP firmware version 4.3.6.0895. I believe it was this update that broke the connection to my PMS.

From the NAS browser desktop, when I click on the Plex icon, the page that opens has this error message: This site can’t be reached, 192.168.1.31 refused to connect.

When try to manually update the PMS into the NAS, the file does not install.

Any ideas on how to fix? I do have the earlier QNAP firmware version where Plex worked, but I would rather not do that. I wish QNAP would not update their firmware so often. Seems the break things as often as the fix bugs.

I have, several times. I have also tried to re-download the update in case of corruption. Still no success.

Try downloading it with a different browser.

I say this because if there are no log entries, the package isn’t passing the initial completeness validation upon upload.

EDIT Also please show me the file name you have and the file name you previously used.

That appears to be server -> app issue.

Is this issue one of not connecting to plex after update or actually installing the update as so stated?

OK downloading the file with another browser did the trick! Never had that issue before with Safari… not sure why now - but at least I have a workaround if it happens again on the next update. . thanks for your help

I was off initial topic. My bad, I am sorry and I deleted it.

No problem. For the record, Safari often does cause problems.

FF and Chrome are the safest (depending on platform).
