Server Version#:1.18.2.2029
Player Version#:Web 4.12.2
I have a TVS-871T Qnap and cannot get plex to work. Issue started when upgrading to 4.4.1.117 on Qnap. I have tried un/reinstalling plex server. Upgrading plex to 18.2.2029, downgrading to 18.1.1. Stopping and starting via the app store. Removing all plex via SSH and starting over. Downgrading back to 4.3.6 qnap firmware. 3 browsers on 3 different systems. And nothing
I have the log file but am not sure how/where to put as the limit to put topic on here will not allow the character length
Hey Matt, sorry to hear it’s been like that. Crazy huh?
So you’re on 4.3.6-1070 now? That’s a good one.
Your PMS should come online too, that version, 1.18.2.2029.
So let’s start off with the basic details of your NAS and your network.
For example, are you using a single storage pool with maybe a RAID array in there and one NIC doing a single subnet with no VPN?
On the other hand, if you’re running multiple pools, volumes, NICs, VLANs, VMs, or VPNs, please let us know.
Because you did so many attempts to rip everything out and start over, let’s just do that again. This would be the path I suggest if you have a simple NAS setup.
Use the QNAP AppCenter to uninstall PMS.
Power cycle the NAS.
While it’s booting up, surf to plex.tv using Safari or Firefox and log into their website.
On that tab which lists your authorized servers, delete them all.
Log into the QNAP desktop and open the AppCenter - QNAP Store - Partners
Install the Plex Media Server v1.16.6 they offer on that exact page.
Follow the directions listed in the website article to get it up and running.
Please screenshot anything that goes wrong and explain what you tried. If you get to the point where you’ve claimed your server and are adding a library, just start small with 3 or 4 films.
Others (including myself) have had similar issues.
Was Plex running with 18.2.2029 before you upgraded? Have you recently upgraded Plex? …some have found that the problem was that Plex was still running older instances of Plex at the same time as 18.2.2029 and they had to “kill -9” them.
Others realised (too late) that QT 4.4.1.117 was still in beta for their particular QNAP (mine is OK - I have a TS-453Bmini).

[edit:’ Forgot to add that I do now have 4.4.1.117 running with Plex 18.2.2029. I think my problem was that I upgraded QTS and then lex and had the multiple instances running. I solved my problem by downgrading QTS and then re-ugrading QTS which (I think) effectively killed the older instances of Plex running when the QNAP restarted.
The OP here mentioned he dropped back to 4.3.6-1070.
Would it be more clear to deal with his issue separately?
He could still provide his details over there. Let us know.
Thanks
