Unable to use hdmi passthrough after device reconnect

Hello Plex-Folks,

I was recently told to use plex for windows instead of plex htpc when I asked for mouse control. Fine for me, I tried it. And it works, for exactly one evening.

About my setup: I have an AVR connected via HDMI, and a projector on that AVR. The projector gets turned off when not in use, but the AVR stays on all the time. When the projector is turned off, a virtual, hidden screen with 1024*768px is configured, since hdmi does not provide audio when there’s no screen attached.

The issue: Every time the projector gets turned on (or off), the AVR redoes its handshake with my pc. And the plex for windows-app doesn’t like that. First, it forgets about the configured audio device and passthrough settings, and even after reconfiguring it I need to restart the app to actually make passthrough work.

VLC can handle this without any issues, but vlc is also only configured to always try audio passthrough with the default audio device.

Reconfiguring and restarting the player every single day is surely not an option, so I’ll stick with vlc for now.

Do you think this issue can be solved?

Ps: The first person telling me to simply restart the app will be cursed at the next satanic sacrificial ritual, I promise.
