Unathorized login. Now can't access server

Server Version#: No idea… can’t access it.

My account was logged into around 5:00 AM CST this morning from Cairo, Egypt, and I have since changed my password. However, since this login by someone other than me, I’m unable to access my Plex server. I restored my server to a previous backup, wiped the Preferences.xml file, rebooted, and continue to see the error below when trying to access the server:

The server “xxxxx” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.

This is accessing the server directly on my local network as well… How can I regain access to my local Plex server?

Sure seems to be a lot of unauthorized log ins for Plex.

Seems to be a common trend to use the same password on several sites too. When another site is compromised, that password is now out in the wild with an email address attached to it. The best defense is to use a password manager and a different password for each site.

My login username wasn’t unique to plex, but the complex password was in this situation since it’s an administrative account, so I’m unable to figure out how they gained access to it. Luckily, the server plex is on only has read access to my NAS, so no media is lost, but rebuilding the Plex server would be complex with my deployment. Losing the structure and metadata would be bad.

So how do I go about reclaiming my server? Is this forum the only platform for support?

I fixed it. I couldn’t find any documentation on this, but I had to login to the server on the local network (not the separate vlan my workstation is on), ensure I was logged out my plex account, then click on the “what’s this?” link at the bottom right of the page, then I was able to re-claim my server from there.
