@ant167

Where were your media files?

Were they in the Plex share ?

No on a separate directory called “stv plex” and I might be being stupid but doubt understand what’s been said on the first reply

Thanks.

I see what is happening.

In your logs, I find:

May 28, 2019 20:45:24.573 [0x7f18e5bb7700] ERROR - Couldn't check for the existence of file "/volume2/STV PLEX/music/.grab": boost::filesystem::status: Permission denied: "/volume2/STV PLEX/music/.grab"
May 28, 2019 20:45:24.573 [0x7f18e5bb7700] ERROR - Couldn't check for the existence of file "/volume2/STV PLEX/tv/.grab": boost::filesystem::status: Permission denied: "/volume2/STV PLEX/tv/.grab

User Plex (which is how Plex works on Synology), must be given permission to access that folder. It is a “Shared Folder” by Synology’s definition.

In Control Panel - Shared Folders,
Look for STV PLEX and click it
Now click the EDIT button

You will now see the details popup open.

Click the Permissions tab.

There you will see user Plex listed on the left side.
On that line, Click the R/W box.

This gives user Plex permission to write to the STV PLEX folder on Volume 2.

Save this change.

Now, for any other folders you created this way, you must perform the same steps.

You may select “Read Only” or “Read/Write”.

Thank you very much that sorted it and written in a way anyone can understand your a star :star::star2::star:
