Unexpected error

There were a few posts about this when the app first launched? Has everybody else solved their “unexpected error - check network connection” issues and not told me?? If so please do tell me how, I can barely play anything without it crashing out after less than a minute.

This is what worked for me:

Completely uninstall Plex media server and remove the whole Appconfig folder.  Essentially kill presence of Plex on your server. Download the newest version of the PlexPass Plex Media Server and install it.  Let it index your media (I let it run overnight)

Hard shut down your XBox One, then reboot it.  Once the Plex reindex is complete, run Plex on your XB1.

These steps worked for me. After I did that, everything played smoothly.  Actually, letting Plex to a fresh everything to my media made it behave better on a lot of fronts.

I tried this and still getting the error, its incredibly annoying and making Plex on the Xbox completely unusable, any other suggestions, Ive tried all sorts of combinations of uninstalling, rebooting etc

Please get debug logs exactly when it happens.

I got this error just after launch but it went away on its own. Last week, though, it came back. I had restarted my server other reasons (no system updates or anything) and suddenly i couldnt get more than 5sec into any video. It would start, then i would see graphical corruption on the video and it would result in the error. Even a movie i had been watching without issue the night before resulted in the error.

I fully restarted everything and reinstalled the app on the xbox to no avail. I also reinstalled the server. I even deleted the Plex folder in %appdata% (im on windows). After all that, every video still resulted in an error. I've attached the logs from my server that showed the error. To get these logs, i closed my server, deleted existing logs, restarted the server, played the video until error and the closed the server again.

Strangely, the error stopped happening yesterday. I didnt change anything and it just started working again. Its all very strange.

I’m similar, it’s not every single time, some things play but it happens about 80% of them time. I haven’t been able to recreate the conditions reliably to make it fail.

Started happening to me again. Can't play anything, not even content the previously played without issue. No changes have recently been made to client or server so my logs from my post above should still be relevant.

I`m facing the same problem and its not the first time, every f****king 5 minutes the same error, I wont resintall plex server again. I`m paying this and cant use at all.

Its getting really annoying. Please fix it.

It would really help the developers and the community if you provide additional information regarding your issues. If possible, describe your setup/environment in detail; e.g. NAS, wired, Mac, server version, etc. Additionally, try to get your logs uploaded to your thread so we can save time and help eliminate a lot of stuff by narrowing down the problem(s).

I've seen countless posts where people had issues but did not take the time to provide the necessary information, then after about 20 replies a simple fix was found. And it's always something that could have been addressed right off the bat if the person described what their setup was. Trust me, there are plenty members here that are extremely knowledgeable and helpful—take advantage!

My logs are in one of my posts above. My setup is an older dell laptop with a 2.2 core 2 duo. Not super powerful but can handle transcoding 1 720p. No issues at all streaming to chromecast. This error also occurs when videos would direct-play.

plex is the only thing running on the laptop. Network is gigabit-capable cables and a gigabit router. All wired between server and xbox.
