I have several series of similar names (The Walking Dead, TWD World Beyond and Fear TWD). Plex continuously allocates new episodes of the sub-shows to phantom seasons of the main show (The Walking Dead) - using a date convention in the media folders and filenames hasn’t resolved it.
Obviously unmatching/fixing matches doesn’t work since both seasons are within the same how and can’t be decoupled. Clearing the cache and trying again doesn’t work either.
Does Plex actually have a workaround for extracting a single “season” of a show and putting it in the right show group that doesn’t involve going into the guts of the system and manually tweaking it?
Split apart the show from its context menu. As long as they are actually in three separate folders there will be the option which will result in three versions of the Walking Dead then you can fix match on the two that need it
I am assuming you actually do have them in three separate folders and not in one main Walking Dead folder.
I’ve switched scanners but it didn’t help. Previously when I had this problem I removed the entire directory then brought it back in and it seemed to fix it (didn’t this time), and I’d rather not do that every time a new episode turns up!
