Unread/scanned files

Good evening Plex community.
I’m new to the community and would like to know if anyone has any insight into my problem.
I installed and configured the plex media server, add directories, etc., but I noticed that some files within the same directory were not read, for example:
Example 1:
I have a folder containing the 3 Godfather films, but only 2 have been read
Example 2
I have an Alfred Hitchcock directory with some subfolders just not showing up.
In total, I have approximately:

1520 - mkv
1088 - mp4
0945 - avi

3553 movie files

However, only 2426 were read.

Does anyone have a tip so I can read the other files?

I’ve already tried updating the libraries, reanalyzing, etc. and nothing.

Thank you for any help.

There’s a fairly big chance this is because of how the files are named organized. Some of them might actually be added to Plex but matched as different-quality versions of other items.

Also… keep in mind that what you see in Plex is an „item count“… not a file count. So if your library contains collections and is configured to hide their items, you’ll e.g. have 1 Lord of the Rings collection item instead of 3 individual movie items (which might again be a combination of matching 4K/1080p/730p quality files of each movie).

Thanks for the answer friend.
That’s not the case, I hid the collections and in the example I gave, I got 2 folders where I know there are movies and they just don’t appear.
See in the attachment that I changed the Plex attachment view by directory to facilitate searching and in this single folder only one file does not appear.

Go with the official movie names.
Plex knows there’s 1 movie called „The Godfather“… the other two are officially called „The Godfather Part II“ and „The Godfather Part III“. You can use local/translated titles but they should also match the official release title.

Also… you’ll get better results if you keep individual movies in their own movie-folder directly inside the library folder… don’t add collection folders.
