Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
Player Version#: multiple - plex web 4.12…3 (but it’s not a player issue) - this is a message on the server UI
I simply cannot maintain a reliable/consistent remote access connection.
No matter what I try I get a connection for a few seconds (via the Plex web app) and then I get the [server] is not available outside your network. Sometimes it’s 5 seconds, sometimes not at all - sometimes it’s up for a few hours - I just can’t pin it down.
I am using a Synology NAS 918+ to run Plex server, connected behind BT router to the internet.
I have completely disabled my VPN but it’s not that.
Hunting around the (awful) support pages I found a note about the secure settings - which appeared correctly set to preferred - as a test I thought I would set this to enabled (it was preferred) - didn’t help.
Then I uninstalled Plex from my NAS hoping to find some magic cure and have since reinstalled it - only to find that I can’t connect to the service AT ALL .
ie : internal ip:32400 is not where the service is any longer?
I can see the Plex processes running on the NAS - and of course we cannot change the default port - so what is the problem?

It seems to have resolved itself - the version now on the server is now 1.16x and when I browse to the Plex UI it “advises” me there is an update - so a mental note from me, in future I only update via the Synology package center
The jury is still out on the connection stability - I’ve set up a port rule rather than rely on uPnP - will update the thread later
