Remote Access No Longer Working - Only changes would be NAS Software and Plex Server updated

I have a Synology NAS (DS420+), with a BT “Smart Hub 2”, when I got this Plex server up and running, with the same Hub/Router, Remote Access worked flawlessly and using the automatic settings.

I’ve updated Plex to Version 1.32.4.7195 but experiencing the same issue.

If I disable and then enable remote access it will show that remote access is working for a few minutes, and then will switch to not available outside your network, and if I tick manually specify public port (32400) that will work for a short period before switching to not available, clicking retry will also temporarily show remote access as working.

I’ve not changed the BT “Smart Hub 2” from when it was previously working, only changes would be updating the Plex version, and the NAS updating to Version: 7.1.1-42962 Update 6

Any idea on how I can get Remote Access reliably working again?

I’m still experiencing this issue.

Check the Synology firewall settings… its possible something got changed with the update.

That’s due to Plex displaying a „green“ remote access status indicator while it’s attempting to verify if remote access is working. Based on your description, your remote access setup isn’t working, period.
