According to my QNAP, there are no available updates. I do not know if it supports newer versions, but I think it is highly unlikely that it doesn’t. The NAS is less than four years old.
No option of available updates are presented when scanning for updates.
QNAP is making a bad habit of not pushing new updates through their “app center”.
You can download the latest version of Plex for QNAP from the Plex download page and can then manually update it through the app-center. PMS 1.16.6 has been released in August 2019 – the latest public release is version 1.19.3. There’s been a lot of fixes during those 9 months

I am puzzled as to why qnap won’t scan for updates through the app centre. I’ve not had any way of knowing that a server update was available. Not that I am blaming you for their neglect…

You can bookmark the release announcements for the PMS (using the Bookmark button at the end of the thread… not the browser‘s bookmark feature).
This way you can get email notifications whenever there’s a new update.
