Mines doing exactly the same, Boots up fine runs for 10 - 15 mins then just crashes. Started happening last night.
Same. I’ve rolled back to server version 1.15.4.919 pending a fix. That one was working flawlessly for a couple weeks.
Update: my server continues to crash, even with the older version! This is a major headache!!
Thats what happened to me. I rolled back to an old version thought it was OK but then it crashed a few minutes later. I really need a response from plex now as nothing is getting recorded, i’ll be in everyones bad books.
you need to upload the logs and post the error message in the logs…
I never update anymore because their past few releases have had issues…
I’m having exact same issue with latest Win rev 1.15.4.993, since the install/update yesterday.
It was either here or on Reddit where a user was saying that he had to recreate the firewall rules after the last couple of updates. Sounded like he was running Plex as a service and the acknowledgements for the firewall rules weren’t getting answered.
Found it:
Same problem even when i uninstall and roll back plex to a previous version. Any help in sorting this would be great!Plex Media Server Logs_2019-04-25_20-07-07.zip (3.7 MB)
Upgraded to 1.15.5.994 just now, monitoring with Tautulli to see if it crashes again. Logs reset and ready if it goes down again…
Same here. Seems to literally crash and not work when it updates. Rolled back, did the same. WTF did I pay a lifetime pass for.
without wanting to jinx anything Version 1.15.5.994 has been perfect over the weekend.
Same. No crashes so far (knock wood)
I dont see 994 as a release unless its beta ? regardless there have been a lot of breaking updates recently I had to roll back to 1.15.2.793 as a stable version (there is an issue with samsung tv’s and its resume functionality after this release)
I’m hoping they just release fix packs for the next few releases no feature updates, just fixes
I haven’t experience a server crash on .994 but I am getting only indirect connections.
Nothing has changed on my server nor the network from which my clients (xbox app, browser app, android mobile app) are connecting. This leads me to believe something about the update to .994 has caused this behavior. Seems like a few people here are experiencing this ‘indirect connection’ symptom as well.
I can confirm that my server as been crashing recently more and more, needing to kill the service and kick it back off again.
I thought the latest .994 nailed it as server been great for days, however this morning i had to repeat steps above
.
I am having the exact same issue. I thought it was tied to the Roku version where I normally watch things, but did some digging and found this thread. Server, why you do this?!
same issue on qnap 853A. server does not stay running for more than a minute.
crashes: PlexMediaServer-1.15.4.993-bb4a2cb6c-x86_64
downgraded to: PlexMediaServer-1.15.3.876-ad6e39743-x86_64
works ok.
Both of your crashes were to do with geo location coding for photos libraries. This was resolved recently after this post Photos Library Crashes Server - #8 by drzoidberg33
Please provide logs so the issue can be investigated
