I am attempting to hook up Live TV via USB tuner and Plex isn’t finding it. I have a Hauppauge usb tuner, listed as supported. My desired set up is server on my PC which feeds my Shield TV in another room. I can only hook up the USB tuner to the Shield TV, which is not the server. I did try setting up the Shield TV as a server just to check as a test, but still was not found. All software no all devices appears to be up to date. Any thoughts?
You need to have the USB tuner connected to the same machine that you’re running PMS on.
I am also trying to connect a Hauppauge usb tuner, listed as supported. My Plex server is located on my WD NAS drive connected to my LAN and everything works well with the Plex Media Player located on my PC. However when I try to set up the Live TV and DVR, Plex cannot find my tuner.
Dave, are you saying that the tuner needs to be connected to my NAS drive?
Yes. A pci or usb tuner must be connected to the device that is running the Plex Media Server software. Have you checked to see if the tuner is supported on the WD NAS?
