I have two recordings setup: 12:03am Colbert, 12:05am Daily Show. I have the HDHR Dual (HDHR-US) which is one of the original mpeg2 no dlna tuners.
My Tuner setup in plex shows 6 channels, 2 tuners for the one HDHR.
When I wake up in the morning I only have 2 minutes of Colbert recorded and then the full Daily Show. So it looks like it is not trying to use the other tuner.
How can I debug this to see what’s actually going on?
I’m having the same issue. I actually have a prime with 3 tuners and the dual with 2. I can record 4 channels, 3 on the prime and 1 on the dual. When I record the 5th program (the 2nd dual tuner), the 1st dual tuner will stop recording and then start recording the 5th show.
I’m having a similar issue. I get conflict recording notice when I try to record two programs on different channels even though my HDhome run connect has two tuners.
I note in another thread a user posted that if you use another program to watch live tv (e.g. The hdhomerun app or the channels app on the Apple TV then Plex can’t detect that and abandons the recording as the 1st tuner is in use.
Can the devs please comment on this? Is Plex able to detect how many and which tuners are in use and adapt?
@jayz78 my issue happens to be specific to the older HDHR Dual I believe. The comment you mentioned about another program using the tuner, that is true as Plex doesn’t query the tuner status before recording. However, In my scenario, Plex is the only application that has access to those tuners, so there shouldn’t be any conflict from another program.
Just found out that the HDHR-US Dual is now supported. Upgraded to 1.5.2 today and it is partially working.
I can confirm that my Dual can only record ONE program at a time. It only seems to be attempting to use Tuner 0, Left LED. If it tires to record a second show it stops the first show (on Tuner 0) and then records the second show (on Tuner 0).
It never tries to use the second tuner (Tuner 1, Right LED).
I only have Plex accessing the HDHR-US as some people above have also done.
Plex will continue to report that 2 episodes are recording, but the 1st one will have stopped and moved into the TV folder.
I can confirm the same issue with my Dual
Do devs frequent this forum? Is there another place to submit a bug report?
Yeah the dual isn’t working well but hard to know if it would be any better with a newer one. I get significant artifacting in Plex when watching recordings but when using hdhomerun app watching live tv it is fine. Signal is 100/96/100 so it is not that.
Looking at picking up a Dual used since I see one available near me but curious if both tuners are working yet for any of you? I’m testing the DVR waters before I drop my $10 Dish package and have a Mac so figured this Dual I can pick up locally is the cheapest / best bet for a trial (have to convince the wife it works before I go all out with a $150 tuner)
