VBOX DVR tuning issue for Sydney Australia

Hi all, sorry for the delay, but we need a bit more info. Can someone in Sydney do as follows:

Can you please do as follows in the VBox web interface:

1 goto streaming → advanced
2 open the recording page (may just say recording on the 3442).
3 tune the tuner to the frequency that has the faulty channel (please do for each frequency holding each channel - some frequency may hold more than one channel, we just need the frequency), when you click tune it will lock the frequency under tuner status.
4 set recording duration to 300
5 click record

Please send me each file, please name with the frequency if it is not already done.

You can use dropbox or google drive or any other service so I can download the files.

Once I have that I can continue with the team to see where the issue is. Currently the mU38 works fine for streaming, which is the same as the notify function for plex, so it is unclear how plex is not getting what it should. To get to the bottom of it we need the stream data to see what is being sent.

I can do later today after work :+1:t2:

@llo36 is there somewhere the lists their frequencies?

Never mind i worked it out, however i dont have a usb drive that is needed. Hopefully someone else can get this done

I will keep looking for one as I’m sure i have it somewhere

Do you still need this done? I can assist tomorrow if need be

I did get this done and sent through private message

I have had no confirmation that it was used or useful though

Hi all, its been hectic, sorry for the late action. I have Nicks info, but a second lot would be helpful to confirm the transmission data. Happy to receive a set from Digitv as well.

Hi @llo36, just querying that you got the upload of the channel captures from me.

So my old PVR finaly packed it in after 15 years of faithful service, was hoping to have a solution to replace it before it died, forgoing Plex integration I tried setting up Vbox standalone to get me by while waiting for the plex solution, though even recording to a ext. HDD the box will just lock up half the time when recording. On the drive it has recorded a few files, but timestamps are all 1/1/1999 although the machine’s date is setup correctly.

Any update to this at all?

Any update @llo36 ?

I am still waiting on VBox who have advised that the can confirm the 4xxx series does not have this issue. The 3x series has the same firmware minus the android support and the streams do not show an issue so they still suspect an EPG issue. I have been provided the following to test for AU, can you please try?

https://iptv-org.github.io/epg/guides/au.xml

That doesn’t solve the issue for me :frowning:

Any update @llo36 ?

This was posted 7 months ago. Remind me to never buy vbox again

Prob should complain to vbox themselves. Plex staff and this guy who doesn’t work for vbox have tried to help at no cost

Yeah it’s annoying that this isn’t working for us but saying anything like that here will have no effect on an outcome I’m sure

sad but true :c

True but he has been liasing with vbox support and hasnt had any momentum on this. Hoping other people looking at this solution will at least see these issues and they can decide for themselves that this product doesnt do what is advertised in Australia and perhaps plex should remove the plex certification until it is resolved.

Hi all,

I have sent repeated emails for resolution to the VBox team and sent data from tv capture. So far it appears the 4144 and sat series dont have the issue only the 3144 and only in Sydney. To date I have no resolution for the 3144 in Sydney from vbox. I suggest everyone send emails to support@vboxcomm.com to push this issue,

Sorry i cant do more but have tried.

I’ve alredy sent a few mails to them, but now I will send some kind reminders.

Appreciate all the efforts, i finally bit the bullet and bought a fetch mighty on sale at jbhifi for $199. The vbox ios app on apple tv cant play recorded videos natively and vbox supports suggest to use vlc. I think i should send the vbox back as it doesnt do as advertised and plex can refund me for saying the device is fully supported.
