Video appears bottom left after restart

Plex Version 1.105.1.257-3bc35ab9
Server running on Synology NAS
Occurs on: Plex for windows, and Plex on browser
OS version: Windows 10

Issue summary

Video appears bottom left within the player controls after app restart and homepage displayed:

I’d like to turn this feature off as it’s confusing

Steps to reproduce

  1. start video playing in plex app
  2. stop the video
  3. shutdown plex app
  4. restart plex app and login > choose user

At the point the homepage displays, the video is embedded in the player toolbar.

Behavioural issues

  1. Click Play button at this point and the video starts playing within the toolbar.
  2. Attempt to open another video and that video exhibits the same behaviour, only playing within the toolbar and not across the screen.
  3. The only way to restore the video to full size is to click the video.
  4. Click Stop button to dismiss the toolbar and restore “default” behaviour

Always dismiss the player by clicking the Stop :stop_button: button.
Never just close the whole app (or the web browser) while it’s still playing or in Pause mode.

Thanks for the information.
There’s often cases where the Plex app is closed while things are playing (e.g., autoplay enabled and don’t want to watch the next thing).
What I’m looking for is a way to prevent this behaviour in the first place.
So if the app is shut while something is playing on restart the app does NOT display this weird shrunken video in the toolbar.
I don’t recall this used to happen with Plex, so it’s an enhancement of some kind.

As I said: Always dismiss the player by clicking the Stop :stop_button: button.
Then it will stop every action. Don’t use other methods to stop playback.
