Video freezes when transcoding audio

Hey guys! Just bought a 4K tv not so long ago and immediately found out that it doesn’t support DTS audio by trying to play a movie via DLNA. Yep, it’s a Samsung alright. So I did some digging around and found out about plex and I find it really useful but I’m having an issue where it starts transcoding the audio from DTS to AAC but every 10 minutes the video freezes but the audio continues to play. It freezes for around 3-4 seconds.

I’m running my plex server on a computer that has an i7 4790k and plenty gigs of ram. I’ve monitored the stats when the movie is playing and the CPU usage is around 20% at peak. Let me know if I need to tweak some server settings. Thanks for all the help!

Yes this is an issue with the player in the 3.72.1 release. We’ll have a fix for it soon, or you can try the preview build once it’s updated (the current preview build doesn’t have the fix yet)

I have version 3.93.1 and having this issue too, although it could be slightly different.

When using subtitles, the video and audio transcodes (which I know is expected). This taxes my server, but the video and audio both play with some regular stuttering.
When I turn off the subtitles, the video flips to direct play, but the audio still transcodes (my audio system can’t handle ACC, so this is expected too).
The issue is that the video freezes within 10 seconds and stalls there forever while the audio keeps playing.

Any thoughts?
