Video Preview Thumbnails Only Sporadically Running

I’ve seen a couple topics on this (Video Preview Thumbnails not generating with new media) but never seen a resolution. I have checked both the general and library settings for generating them. I have made sure it is set to “as a scheduled task and when media is added”.

This feature used to be rock solid and always generated thumbnails the second I added new media, but now it is hit or miss. I have noticed that it works more consistently when I first restart the docker container running Plex, but even that isn’t 100% consistent. Once it stops working automatically when media is added it won’t work either by selecting shows and then “Analyze”.

The weird thing is the Intro detection feature always works. Normally when I add media I see both Intro detection and Thumbnail generation running, but now adding media only seems to trigger Intro detection.

Can someone help me debug this… I have logs with debug enabled if that helps.

I’m having the exact same problem. Any suggestions out there??

I am running in a docker container on Linux and the only “solution” I have is to reboot the container once a day. It’s not 100% guaranteed to work but for the most part I find it will work for a good half day or so before it stops generating the thumbnails again. I have no solution other than that unfortunately.

@ChuckPa Any thoughts on ways to debug this?
