Hi all,
For some reason Video Thumbnail previews fail to show up when playing any kind of series but will play for movies, I created two test libary’s each with one tv show and one movie, both have Generate Video Thumbnail Previews enabled when playing the movie and scrubbing foward or backwards the video previews appear, but for the series nothing… I’ve tried different shows etc nothing… this is running on my NVIDIA SHIELD PRO, tried on a Chromecast with Google TV same issue. tried on my built app on my LG TV both work fine. bug seems to be specific to Android TV?
Thanks, can confirm video previews will work if I select the episode and then click the “Play” button, if I play directly clicking on the episode thumbnail, video previews won’t load.
This is still broken in October (running 9.9.0.35519 on Shield 2017) and server version 1.28.2.6151 in linuxserver container. Has there been any acknowledgement that this is a reproducible error on Plex’s end? Frustrating having the thumbnails take up storage and not even being able to use them on Plex’s preferred player, especially considering this has been going on for months now
Anything new about this? I’m also not seeing thumbnail video previews on TV Shows with the Nvidia Shield. It was a pretty big disappointment after dedicating a large amount of HDD space and scanning time to get things setup.
Hi @tom80H , this issue is resolved by and large, however, playback from collections does not show thumbnails. Create a smart collection of episodes and initiate playback from main play button and you should be able to reproduce the issue. Please pass on the feedback to devs. Thank them for the fix thus far.
