Watch live show, then attempt to record results in recording failure

Is this a known issue? This fails 100% for me.

Let’s say I am watching a show on CNN (live). Then I decide to go to sleep so I exit out of the show, and click to record the remaining of the show (you can’t do that while watching, this is a documented limitation of Plex). So I hit record (Plex client does not seem to matter) and I immediately get “recording failure”. So since I can’t record it, I decide to finish the show live and go to bed later. I try to tune in to CNN again but now and every time here on after, I get the ‘no parts’ error UNTIL i restart the PMS.

(PMS on Win7, HDHR Prime FWIW)

Help???

You know, I had something similar happen but I wrote it off to a glitch elsewhere (my HDHomeRun) maybe it was PMS.

What client are you using to watch live normally?

thanks for your interest. I can’t say I use one client more than another but in general I watch on the Shield, my LG TV and my iPhone.

Does this not reproduce when you try it (last time it happened, it was on my Shield).

I’ve only seen this happen when using my Shield, and it’s something we’re looking into.

just tried it on my iphone and I could not repro anymore. That’s good news. I will also try again on my Shield tonight.

I use my Apple TV and also have problems watching Live TV. Plus I am getting “Failed Recording often”. I have turned off Commercial Removal to see if that helps.
