My friend gets “no access” when trying to access a “Watch Together” video hosted on my plex server.
- Plex server running on a Mac
- No firewall on host Mac machine
- Everything works fine when accessing the server locally
- Static IP address is set on the Mac’s network adapter - “using DHCP with manual address” - 192.168.1.6
- Port forwarding is enabled on router - remote port 32400 forwarded to 192.168.1.6:32400
- I’ve also tried disabling port forwarding and instead enabling UPnP on my router
- Remote access status on my local plex dashboard says “enabled” and shows that it’s accessible to the internet - everything is green
- Remote access “Manually specify public port” option is enabled and set to 32400
- Accessing [my-ip]:32400 outside my network brings me to a plex sign-in page, indicating that it’s properly forwarded and accessible to the internet
I have tried rebooting my router, restarting the plex server, having my friend restart their plex client, and signing in and out of my plex account.
https://status.plex.tv/ indicates no remote access outages.
