Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Plex for sometime now with my WD cloud home NAS server and everything has worked perfectly, up until a couple of days ago.
In short, I was trying to watch an episode of a TV show via my LG TV, which only worked until I turned on subtitles. Try as I might to get the show to play with subtitles on (And I tried everything I could think of: Different subtitle files, different video files, importing the subtitles directly to Plex etc), for the life of me I couldn’t get it to work.
So I give up and figured I’d try the next day, only to discover that Plex has crashed altogether. I check what’s going on via the iOS app and it says my NAS is offline. I check the my cloud app though and everything works perfectly. I go to safari on my phone and try the web app and it’s giving me the error message: ‘Unable to connect to my cloud home securely’.
I’ve checked the web articles about secure connection settings, but they simply do not exist anywhere on the web app via my Safari browser. In the settings I can find the server, but the only options are to retry the connection, learn more (about the issue) or remove server.
I’ve tried removing the server and re-adding it, but no dice. I’ve also disabled and re-enabled Plex in the my cloud iOS app several times but nothing seems to change. I’ve also tried restarting my NAS device and router 2-3 times and again, no change whatsoever.
I know my way around tech so have tried all the basic troubleshooting I can think of, such as above, and looked into my routers settings (Which appear good to me). However I’m not so familiar with a lot of the jargon and more advanced settings so I’m now at a complete loss and hoping someone smarter than me can give me a helping hand!
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
