WD MyCloud

Server Version#: 8.5.1-102
Player Version#: unknown (not the most recent but not terribly out-of-date either)

I’ve got Plex installed on a new MyCloud Home. Things were working great until Western Digital did a firmware upgrade (to 8.5.1-102). That upgrade required me to re-install the app. I’ve been trying for over a week without success. The “enable” just spins and spins. Assuming this was related to internet speed–always a challenge in a rural area but that is not your problem. This morning I coughed up the bucks to bump up my speed and I still got this error. Get “https://app.plex.tv/”: context deadline exceeded
(Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)" Still sounds like speed to me but maybe it is something else? If it is speed, is there another way to get this or am I just out of luck. Seems a shame when it was all working so well.

Hi, I am facing the same issue except I am getting unable to “enable”

At least I am not alone. I’ve also raised this issue with Western Digital. If they have anything helpful to say I’ll post it here.

I see there is an open thread on the WD Community forums about this issue My Cloud Home Update Broke Plex Access - My Cloud Home - WD Community

I have reached out to our contact at WD to see what’s happening.

In the meantime, if any of you are still having the issue you could DM me your WD MyCloudHome System Report logs (Activity logs - My Cloud - WD Community) and I can take a look. I can’t promise it will help, but it might give us insight into what might be going on.

To be honest I keep getting error messages like the below when I try to enable. I should it changes every time I try to enable the connection.

I am happy to send my Report Logs (though I didn’t get the same options shown on the link you provided). How do I DM you?

Hadn’t heard anything since sent the logs to you. I wanted to make sure you got them because I wasn’t 100% sure I did it correctly.
