Within the last update or so (I don’t recall which recent update it started), I’ve had serious issues with the web admin/UI/player. On the latest Mac Chrome, Chrome Canary and Firefox, the UI will start blinking and the CPU usage in Chrome ramps up to over 60% sometimes 120-150% with nothing physically happening. It doesn’t make any difference what screen I leave it on whether it’s showing the libraries or the admin. When trying to go to the DVR section, the dialog comes up to rescan the channels and it auto closes after a few seconds not allowing me to do anything. I reopen it the web UI crashes and I get the triangle ! telling me to come to the forums for help. Portions of the admin just can’t be touched.

Any suggestions on what would resolve this?

I’m having similar issues on my PC. After updating to 1.31.1.6733 I actually hit bluescreens reliably by trying to load anything via plex web UI using the 127.0.0.1 interface or via app.plex.tv. Oddly enough, clients like my iphone/apple tv have no problem playing content, and my pc remains totally fine while that happens. I can play the same content fine directly from disk too. Something seems fishy with this update.

DEBUG server logs please which capture this?

  1. Start Playback
  2. Let it play a moment
  3. Stop Playback
  4. Download server logs ZIP file
  5. Attach please.

Can’t help with WIndows / BSOD but I can direct to the appropriate folks.

@ChuckPa, I just updated to Ubuntu version 1.31.2.6757 and no change.

I’m not playing any videos. It’s just the browser interface sitting idle. It doesn’t matter if it’s showing libraries or just the admin. I just now tried to rescan the live tv channels and it failed because of the browser issue. When I bring it up again, all the matches are gone in the dialog despite the list showing the previous matches on the page. Very odd.

You want debug logs while the browser is idle and the UI is flickering?

You want the public release right now. Upgrading is of no help given there are other issues with 1.31.2.

IS this an issue with the Credits detection running (it was automatically enabled without us knowing when 1.31.1 was installed)

OR is it still a DVR-only?

Credit detection has some issues and was discussed in depth today.

@ChuckPa, Its everything in the web UI. The live tv section just highlights it best. I was just looking for a screen recording app to show you exactly what’s happening. I can open the web UI and let it sit. It instantly starts flickering intermittently. I can try to turn off credit detection and see if it somehow affects the web UI if you think it’s worth it. Even trying to update the info or map a show, it’s sometimes hard there too because of this flickering.
