On the LG tvs as of recently it appears as though the app just launches to a black screen with nothing loading

Having the same issue also.
Same issue for me as well. Was working on both my LG TV yesterday and the same load to black screen after the Plex splash log on both my LG tvs. Works fine on Web, WIndows or mobile applicaitons.
Same for me as well, worked earlier today.
Looks like its fixed now!
Restarted the app and it loads everything again

Same here. Was working fine yesterday. Can still access the same server from desktop and mobile apps.
It is working for me now as well
