Well this is a weird one - All TV shows as one series

So it’s a brand new install on ubuntu 18.4.2 and is scanning fine, almost. Films ok, but TV shows are all appearing as a single show “Aqua teen hunger source” that isn’t on the server.

The precious installation of plex picked up the same files and folder structure got the relevant metadata etc. and worked fine.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Thanks

Julian,
Did you add the directory down one level too far or add individual TV series in the folder list?

As example:

/nas/tv/
   Series 1/
     Season 1/
        files here

   Series 2/
     Season 1/
       files here

You add /nas/tv as the folder name

Thank you for your reply Chuck, The folder was a level too high. I’ve been looking at it for a couple of hours and never spotted it. I went to delete the Aqua… program but it asked if I wanted to delete the program from the file system. will this delete the metadata or the actual videos?

Thanks

Julian

If you delete a Series from the file system, the series and its metadata will be removed on the next scan.

If you have automatic detection enabled, this will happen about 30 seconds after deletion.

Thanks Chuck, In that case I suppose I need the library to refresh it’s entire metadata, so I selected that option. Thanks again Julian

Julian,
Once you’ve got everything back in sync, I suggest enabling “partial scan”. It really cuts down on the scan time for large libraries.

Thank you chuck, could you please mark this as solved.
