What is my naming mistake?

Server Version: 1.28.0.5999-97678ded3

Ok, there’s a TV series called Blackout (Blackout (2021) - TheTVDB.com) and I tried to add it to my library. But even the curly bracket workaround does not help. Here’s my directory:

user@desktop:~/Videos/Series$ tree Blackout*
Blackout (2021) {tvdb-406231}
└── Season 01
├── Blackout (2021) - S01E01 - Dunkelheit.mkv
├── Blackout (2021) - S01E02 - In der Höhle des Löwen German.mkv
├── Blackout (2021) - S01E03 - Chaos.mkv
├── Blackout (2021) - S01E04 - Ins Herz der Finsternis.mkv
├── Blackout (2021) - S01E05 - Abgrund.mkv
└── Blackout (2021) - S01E06 - Licht.mkv

All other TV series (not shown) do work perfectly.

What is my mistake?

Since you are not telling us neither OS, nor what happens with the files during scanning, I assume they simply doesn’t show up in your Plex library?

If so, I suggest checking file rights and/or ownership
(Hint: compare to working files)

And if not above, then:

Thanks for your reply. Well, it’s the Linux Server - I thought selecting the Linux tag would be unique enough.

I’ll check the granted rights and report back.

Well, a lot of users are also reporting NAS OS as Linux, which is correct in most cases, but a NAS does has limitations in it’s OS

And I then assume it simply didn’t show up ?

So please do keep us posted here, regarding both good and bad news

What happens when you take that year out? From what I can tell Balckout is from 2020…regardless I don’t include the year for any of my shows.

Not a naming issue unless there’s something off about the TVDB number.

I tried a test file without that and it shows up exactly how you have it named.

Post your server logs, but Im gonna take a guess that its file permissions. Either on the files or the directories above them.

Naming scheme looks correct, I would check and see if you have any duplicates, if a series gets incorrectly matched as a series you already have in your library, it will seem at first that it just didn’t get picked up at all.

GOT IT!
In deed, it was missing access rights. Changing the directories to 575 and the files to 464 let the series pop up in my library.

Thanks a lot!
