I am trying to figure out whether plexconnect for ATV3 offers the same (or almost the same since some channels are not working yet) content as does a jailbroken ATV2 using XBMC ? From what i know xbmc on jailbroken ATV2 allowed one to watch all sorts of content (new movies, hbo shows etc). Does plexconnect for ATV3 provide me the same ?
I would really appreciate if anyone can help me understand.
The thing that PlexConnect is best at is delivering your local content on your plex media server to your ATV without needing to jailbreak the device, the online aspect of Plex are the Channels and that is the part that is not working the best. Personally Most of the content I want comes from my local media server so it works great for me, but if you are getting most of your content online, you may want to hold out on PlexConnect for now.
