I have an “The Office (US)” specials folder with ~250 videos. In the Plex for Windows player, whenever I choose any episode from the “Specials” season and click play it plays Season 01 Episode 01.
This also happens in the web player, have not tested smart TV/roku/etc.
Below is my folder file name structure.
The Office Extras
s00e01-s00e13 Are Webisodes
s00e101-911 Are Extras/Featurettes
…s00e101-101 - Season 01 Featurettes
…s00e201-206 - Season 02 Featurettes
…s00e301-313 - Season 03 Featurettes
…so on and so fourth.
s00e1001-9023 Are Deleted Scenes
…s00e1001-1006 - Season 01 Deleted Scenes
…s00e2001-2022 - Season 02 Deleted Scenes
…so on and so fourth.
I believe my naming convention is acceptable compared to your guidelines. I have posted a screenshot for your review.
There are over 200 Specials/Featurettes/Deleted Scenes. From what I’ve read all the files must reside in the /TV Shows/The Office/Specials or /TV Shows/The Office/Season 00 folder. The only way I have found to make sense of them is to use higher episode numbers. 100-911 are Season 01-09 features, Episodes 1000-9023 are Season 01-09 deleted scenes.
Also, I have found that the episodes ARE working properly via Roku and/or SmartTV. It is only on the Windows App and Browsers that this issue occurs.
It does all look correct except the folder named Television rather than TV Shows which I don’t think makes a difference. Also you said the ROKU and Smart TV are seeing and playing them correctly. None of the examples PLEX provides at the naming link show the (US) in the title - PLEX would expect a year (i.e. (2004)) I wonder if the Brackets and ‘US’ are throwing it off?
