It might be I just don’t know what it is really sorting on. It is appearing to be randomly sorted because there is a mix of IMDB and TVDB ratings but they are not sorted in any sensible order. I would like to be able to sort them so maybe the IMDB x.x is converted to a 0-100% equivalent and sorted with the tvdb rating. It would also be really great if a smart collection could be creating using that value.
IMDb and TVDB ratings are not critic ratings. They are made by regular users, not professional critics.
Only Rottentomatoes has ratings by professional critics (additionally to ratings by regular users).
I don’t mind it’s not a professional critic I think overall audience/peanut gallery rating is good enough for me. But I’d like to not only be able to sort by it but know which one it is sorting by and see it below the poster and be able to make a smart list based on the same.
It means if you are not fetching RT ratings for your library, you will get random sorting when you try to sort by critic rating. Simply because there are no critic ratings assigned to your media.
You’ll have to sort by “Audience rating” instead.
On top of that, TVDB doesn’t have any rating data anymore. So what you are seeing in your library is very, very stale data.
I’d check if the library is still using the deprecated “legacy” agent.
Yes it was set to The Movie Database. I changed it and told it to refresh the metadata.
