Whenever watching NFL games I hear Spanish announcers

Whenever I watch an NFL game I get the Spanish announcers unless I back out the viewing 3 or 4 times and go back to it and eventually it will switch to the US English announcers. This happens across all of my Roku devices and has been going on for at least a year. I have no idea what is causing this or what it changes after leaving the broadcast and coming back several times. I do not watch many TV programs on the tuner at this point but I don’t recall this happening for anything but NFL games. Thank you.

I have the exact same problem. It’s not just on NFL though. Any channel with Spanish audio, plex chooses the Spanish track. I can change it easy enough, but with my server set to English, I shouldn’t have to.

The easiest solution is to expand your vocabulary and become fluent in Spanish.

It is something we US Citizens are extremely lacking in. Most of us speak and understand only one language and that severely limits the US in global markets.

However you are correct in that if a track in your chosen language is available you should hear that track by default whenever stating playback. I have not seen that problem at all. It must be related to the playback part of the DVR part of Plex as the other parts do not ever, at least so far, play the inappropriate audio track.

Does the audio channel have proper identification that it is indeed a spanish language track?
Or is it mislabeled as ‘English’?
Or is it not labeled with a language identification at all?

In my case, it is labeled Espanol (AC3 Stereo). I can change it during live play and in Plex, after it is added to the library, to the English (AC3 5.1) track, but it always starts in Spanish during live play.

I have only one station to test this with over here.
However, when I tried it and I set my preferred audio language in my account https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account this one station was played with the preferred audio language selected.

Is there a way to change this during live play without recording it and change post that? I looked and could not find where to do it.

My preferred audio track in Settings/Languages is set to English. I did not know there was another option in Account Settings. Mine was set to System Default. I changed it to English and we shall see how that works. Thank you.

I don’t think we can choose which audio track is recorded; Plex just records them all.

I have the same problem, which I created a post about here: Live & Recorded TV audio in spanish despite set to english

I’ve created a video of the problem in action that I will link in both places since this post seems to be getting more traction than mine: https://imgur.com/a/Nls7gvb

Of note in the video, you can see that initially while it is playing Spanish, English is the selected setting. Once I select Spanish in the settings, and then re-select English, it correctly changes streams. I’ve seen a few posts about this problem blaming the broadcast, but this really makes it seem like a client problem.
