It began while streaming movies, Plex began losing signal. It stopped in the middle of a movie as though the signal was lost. Then one of my HDD died on me. I’m not sure how much of the plex programming and software was on this particular drive, but that’s when I really noticed that Plex was not seeing any of my media HDDs and its content.
I tried reinstalling but it does not help. When I go to “Your Media” to re-add my media, it only goes to the “Get Plex Media Server” link.
Help…I’ve been using Plex for probably the last 8 years and never ran into this.
Assuming WindowsOS…
What drive is(was) plex installed to? What drive failed?
I thought it was all on my c. The drive that failed was where imported the “download; picture; document; etc” folders. I believe the folder that also had the plex poster downloads also.
Being that I’m not sure, I just want to reinstall so that I can do it all over to begin streaming media. I’m not even given the option of picking my media folders. Just the “Get Plex Media Server” link. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled.
I’m not sure your setup but if plex was installed using all defaults(no custom paths) then all the required files for plex will be on C:\
Correct…Found the Plex folder in C:. But where is the other movie info stored? I was able to pull this info from a back once before. In any case, before I completely uninstall then reinstall as the link provided by NewPlaza, I wanted to make sure that there was nothing I was missing.
Just strange that I don’t even get the option to add my media. Just a link to install the Plex server, which I’ve done several times.
Not me. But nonetheless…
Plex installs in your program files and uses the appdata folder for the everyday operations of plex. Your database would actually be stored there. If the database is gone then you will have to create new libraries.
Your media is yours. Plex does not supply that. You must load plex and add paths to the location of your media.

Its not allowing me to add my media paths. Just tells me to install Plex server. The option of assigning paths doesn’t come up.
Can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing
Plex Acting Up.rar (256.1 KB)
I uploaded a 2 page zipped PDF screenshot of what I’m getting.
Click this. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html
What do you see?
Unable to connect
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:32400.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
It sounds like you do not have pms installed or it’s not currently running.
If not installed, go here and download your PMS version.
If installed, please make sure it’s on(running)

Tried that a couple of times. Even did the repair. Doesn’t even show up in my task bar. It does show in running tasks however.
More than one Windows user account, perhaps?
I’ve been using this thing for years, now all of a sudden this. Plex Media Server is in my task manager, but not my tool bar. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I take it with your emojis you are still having issues?
You are correct SMH.
