I just opened up Plex on my ipad after updating and I can no longer see where my library of movies etc is?? They still appear on the desktop player version on my pc but have no clue how to stream to my iPad. All I see now is a bunch of movies, news , tv shows etc that I don’t want. I only use plex to to stream from my desktop to iPad. How do I get my iPad to find the server again? Also how do I even open the server on my desktop? When I click on it nothing happens? Why the hell do you people keep screwing with this app and breaking it all the time. So annoying.
as for the iPad…
I take it your iPad is signed in to the same Plex account you’re using for the Plex Media Server and your other clients?
Have you checked the “More” option in the main navigation of your iPad’s Plex app?
as for opening the server…
open the applicable address in your browser:
| use case | URL |
|---|---|
| if you’re on the same machine as the server | http://127.0.0.1:32400/web or http://localhost:32400/web |
| if you’re on a different machine within your home network | http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web |
| if you’re on a device outside your home network with “remote access” enabled on your PMS | http://app.plex.tv/desktop |
I’m having the same issue. I just got a new iPad Pro, and in setting it up, I found that the libraries from my main server won’t load. Plex recognises the server (though sometimes displays it as offline), but won’t load the libraries at all.
I’m using the latest version of Plex on the iPad, and just updated the PMS on my Synology.
UPDATE: I was able to get my libraries to show up by disabling remote access, then re-enabling it in the server settings!
